FRP Grids - Ceylan Composite

FRP Gratings

FRP gratings are glass fiber reinforced composite products with superior physical and chemical properties used in industrial or service sectors. Glass-reinforced plastic gratings are also known as FRP composite gratings, composite gratings, fiberglass gratings or composite sheets.

Casting type FRP gratings come into play with the production of glass fiber and suitable resin and pigment combination as square or rectangular cell plate with open moulding technique. Its structure is light weight, resistant to corrosion and has high carrying capacities.

FRP gratings may generally be preferred for flooring in many industrial applications that have pressure or exposed to chemical effects, and there are many other uses in the field such as protection and decoration.

Advantages

Advantages of FRP Gratings

FRP gratings are alternative products with superior advantages over conventional casting, galvanized or stainless metal gratings;

They are of low weight:
Transportation costs are less than metal counterparts. They are easily transported during assembly and are easy to install.

They have high carrying capacities:
They have superior tensile, tilting and compressing values from steel. They are resistant to the bumps, they are elastic and overloaded in overloads.

They are resistant to corrosion:
They do not rust or rot.

They do not have electrical conductivity:
They can be used where work safety is important.

Thermal conductivity is low:
They provide very good insulation.

Dimensional stabilizations:
They do not stretch or shrink.

They are not magnetic:
They can be used alternatively in sensitive places where magnetization of metal grids is not desired.

They are resistant to UV rays:
They do not deform.

They can be processed in a simple way:
They can be cut with simple carpenter tools like saw.

No recycling:
There is no risk of being stolen because it is not worth the scrap.

They do not require paint or maintenance:
They can be cleaned easily with pressurized water.

They can be manufactured in all sorts of colours:
They can be produced in the desired colour in places where architectural practices and work safety require.

Long life:
They do not experience deformation theoretically.

They have non-slip properties:
They can be used on greasy, wet or dry surfaces.

Light transmittance properties can be achieved:
They can be used in applications where light transparency is desired.

Chemical and combustion resistance can be increased:
Special types of resins and chemical additives can provide improved corrosion resistance and combustion resistance.

FRP Grating Surface Types

FRP Grating Surface Types

1) Regular Type Grating Surfaces

FRP gratings are produced with open ceiling and bottom surfaces as standard, and surface characteristics can be manufactured in different types according to customer demand or application point requirements.

Concave Surface Gratings

1

This is the most common and standard surface type among FRP gratings. The grating section is in a concave form. It is suitable for use against slipping in many environments, including wet and greasy conditions. It's easy to clean if necessary.

Sand Surface Gratings

2

The surface of the concave grating surface is coated with binding resin and quartz sand. The shear resistances of such grids are high. It is suitable for use in wet or damp environments and places where extra nonslipping is required. The cleanability in the working environments of greasy materials is limited.

Flat Surface Gratings

3

The concave grating surface is processed to make it brighter and smoother. They have a nice appearance, so they are usually used for decoration purposes. For example, façades or covering panels can be realized by applying gratings with flat surface

2) Covered Type Grating Surfaces (Single Sided)

Covered type gratings are formed by joining flat surface gratings with the respective composite plate. The combined standard composite plate thickness is 3 mm. Covered gratings are preferred in environments where grating open cells are not desired. For example, since they are completely closed, they are suitable for use in pits, cable duct covers, walkways. They can also be easily laid out with the aim of creating a safe working area on the construction site, lakes edge, permanent roads in the factory areas, sandy, muddy, slippery places where platforms can be / cannot be built. As their top surfaces are closed, their strength is also increased compared to normal grating surface types.
Sand Covered Surface Gratings

4

It is obtained by joining the upper part of the flat surface grating with the sand surface composite plate.

Diamond Pattern Covered Gratings

5

It is obtained by joining the upper part of the flat surface grating with the diamond patterned composite plate

FRP Grid Fasteners

FRP Grid Fasteners

Fasteners are used to fix the grating to the floor where it will be mounted or to join two gratings of the same type. In single gratings to be mounted on the floor, at least one connection element should be used for each corner. There are different types of fasteners according to their mounting styles.

Connection Chock

2

It ensures that the grate is pressed to the ground safely. It is made of flexible and durable special rubber material.

M Type Connector

3

They are used to stabilize the grille and prevent it from turning in all directions.
Manufactured from galvanized or stainless steel.
It consists of 4 parts as lower - upper butterfly, nut and flake.
When ordering the fastening element, the grating size and profile dimensions to which the grating is connected must be specified.

C Type Connector

4

They are used to stabilize the grille and prevent it from turning in all directions.
Manufactured from galvanized or stainless steel.
It consists of 4 parts as lower - upper butterfly, nut and flake.
When ordering the fastening element, the grating size and profile dimensions to which the grating is connected must be specified
